THE
POWER OF THOUGHT
Thought
is the unseen cause of the totality of our lives. It is the motivator behind everything that we create, do and
feel. To walk
across a room, we must think of it first.
To create a painting, we imagine it first.
To feel joyful, we first believe the moment is
wonderful. Without thoughts, we would do nothing and feel nothing.
Thought
is invisible energy that causes emotions, ideas and actions.
But can thought also cause events?
Can it affect our physical bodies and material things?
Scientists
think so. They
have found that any experiment is affected by the expectations
of the researcher or observer.
For that reason, they conduct experiments using
"double blind" procedures.
Eastern philosophers certainly believe it is so.
For thousands of years, they have propounded the idea
that thought is creative, even of matter and events.
How
does thought affect events and matter?
That question deserves a careful and lengthy answer,
but for our purposes here, a short answer must suffice.
When
we deal with the unseen, we must go beyond traditional
science, which studies only that which our physical senses can
know. We must
look for the answer in philosophic understanding, and more
recently, in quantum physics.
Unseen
energy is the basis of all matter.
Quantum physicists now tell us that atoms are comprised
of only about ten percent matter, and that approximately
ninety percent of what we call "matter" is actually
fluctuating impulses of energy.
And you thought your kitchen table was solid!
You also thought your body was solid.
And yet, now we know that the body, composed of atoms,
is also only about ten percent solid mass.
The rest of it is invisible energy.
You and all the people around you are really made of
invisible, vibrational energy.
Try to hold that mental picture for a moment.
Thought,
as an unseen vibrational energy, possesses the same qualities
of pulsating energy as the kitchen table or the body's cells,
but with important additional qualities.
Thought is self-conscious, directive
energy. Thought
is the maestro, the sculptor, and the creator of our lives
because it manages, directs and organizes all the other
vibrational energies. It's that simple.
Now,
how can we use this information?
It must be used in a practical way in our lives, rather
than sitting immobile like a statue of the philosophical
"Thinker" -- nice to look at, but it won't go with the living room
decor.
There
is much we can do with the information that thought can affect
what happens to us. Your
potential wealth, health and happiness are within your
control. Through
directed thought, you determine your opportunities and
successes.
We
have been creating our lives with our thoughts, as beliefs,
attitudes, emotions and statements, we just haven't been aware
of it. Much of our thought has been weak and without impact because
it has been indecisive, confused, scattered and contradictory.
Scattered thought is impotent, but focused thought is
like a laser beam of power.
You
can have anything you want in life, as long as you are able to
consistently hold that ideal or goal in your mind and
emotions. As soon
as you begin to use your thoughts creatively, you will
know without any doubt, that this is true.
And when you know it with deep certainty, you will be
filled with a rush of excitement and joy, because you will
have found the key to life.
You
will only really know as you practice and use your
abilities. This
book, as a training course, will guide you with information
and techniques. It's
then up to you to use these transformational tools for
practical change in your life. |
